Clinical Pilates

Clinical Pilates blends the principles of Pilates with clinical assessment and rehab. As your chiropractor, I design a Pilates-based program that supports your goals and your real life — whether you’re rebuilding after injury, managing pain, preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, or simply wanting to move and feel better.

What Clinical Pilates can include

Your plan is personalized, but sessions often include:

  • Breath + core coordination foundations
(like rib-to-hip breathing, deep core activation, and pelvic tilting)

  • Mobility + stability training for the spine, hips, and shoulders

  • Progressive strength and balance work tailored to your body and stage of life

  • Education and movement strategies you can use at home and between visits

Why people choose Clinical Pilates

People often choose Clinical Pilates for:

  • Better posture and alignment

  • Improved core control and stability

  • Reduced stiffness and discomfort

  • More confidence with day-to-day movement and exercise

Who Clinical Pilates is for

Clinical Pilates may be a great fit if you’re:

  • Managing back, neck, hip, pelvic, or shoulder discomfort

  • Pregnant or postpartum and want safe, guided movement

Conversation & Goals

We’ll talk through your history, current activity, symptoms (if any), and what you want to get out of Pilates.

Movement Screening

I’ll assess posture and breathing patterns, and check mobility and strength as needed.

Your Plan

You’ll leave with a clear starting point: an initial home routine, next steps, and a plan for follow-up sessions.

Foundations

You’ll learn key starting strategies like rib-to-hip breathing and gentle deep core activation.

How Clinical Pilates and chiropractic work together

I often combine hands-on chiropractic care with Clinical Pilates because they work beautifully together.

Hands-on care (mobilizations, soft tissue therapy, and gentle adjustments when appropriate) can help restore mobility and settle irritation. Clinical Pilates then builds the strength, stability, and coordination that helps you maintain those improvements — and keep progressing between visits.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Nope! We start with foundations and build from there. If you already have Pilates experience, I’ll meet you where you’re at and progress from your baseline.

  • Yes! And it can be an excellent option. I tailor breath and core strategies, exercise selection, and intensity to your trimester or stage of recovery and your individual needs. Pilates is a great low-force way to stay active during pregnancy and rebuild confidence postpartum.

  • Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. If you use a support (like a belly band or pelvic belt), bring it along. Bring water to stay hydrated. If you have a preferred mat or equipment, feel free to bring it — otherwise, we have all the equipment you will need.

  • It depends on your goals and symptoms. Many people begin with weekly or bi-weekly sessions for 3–6 visits, then transition to less frequent check-ins as they build independence with their program.

  • Yes. Sessions are delivered by a chiropractor and billed under chiropractic services. Coverage varies by plan, so check your benefits for details. If you are interested in Virtual Clinical Pilates, please check that your benefits plan covers telehealth appointments.
